Roofing and Ventilation
At Suite Home Renovations, we have over 10 years of experience in general renovations, including roof replacement and repair. Our team is licensed, insured, trained, and most importantly – 100% dedicated to every type of project, no matter the scope or location.
Many property owners focus on floors and piping, however, the roof also plays a large role. Houses and buildings function as a large organism. Every detail matters if you want to live in a well-functioning property. A bad roof can lead to cracks in the foundation which will damage floors, windows, doors, and above all – your safety.
At Suite Home Renovations, we know the importance the roof has for your home. That’s why we only work with high-quality materials, use modern equipment, and focus our entire energy on creating a safe roofing structure. Our services include but are not limited to:
- Roof repair, replacement, and removal
- Gutter repair and replacement
- Soffit and Fascia repair and replacement
- Eaves repair and replacement
- Skylights and SolarTubes/Sun Tunnel installations
The team at Suite Home Renovations also offers design advice, helping our clients choose the right shingle material for their home. Apart from residential projects, we also offer and have experience in commercial roofing.
When should my roof be replaced?
A standard asphalt shingled roof will last 15-18 years depending on weather, the position of trees close to your house, and a variety of other factors. We often look for two things though. The amount of rock still on the shingles, and if they are curling up on the corners. Very easy to spot these two items from a quick inspection.
If you have a flat roof then you’re looking at a 30 year lifespan in a typical situation. This depends on if you have standing water, poor drainage, and again a number of other factors. This type of roof requires a more thorough inspection and is unlikely a quick glance to assess the lifespan.
Ultimately, the time to replace a roof is before it leaks and causes major damage! Small issues turn into large ones when they’re ignored.
The Signs of Roof Damage
The decision for whether to install a new roof is entirely up to you. However, if you notice any signs of roof damage, we recommend roof repair or replacement. A damaged roof can cause serious issues throughout the entire property, jeopardizing your comfort and safety.
Nobody should live under a rotten roof, especially a family with children. Here are the common signs of damaged roofing.
- Leaks on the roof and attic
- Poor attic ventilation
- Unwanted houseplants i.e. algae and moss on the shingles
- Cracked, rotten, or curly shingles
- High electrical bills
- Draftiness or high-humidity levels in the attic
If you notice any of the signs mentioned above, feel free to contact us. Our team will make sure your emergency roofing issues are properly addressed.
